How To Do: Summer Evening Wear for a High-Budget
Last Monday I showed you how to do summer evening wear for a low-budget. However, today I’m going to show you how to get the look for a high-budget.
Personally, I feel that on summery evenings, long gowns can just be too hot – so it makes sense to go for something shorter. The trouble is finding a short, loose dress that is glamorous, on trend, and elegant. A few tips for getting this look right: choose a dress or a playsuit in a floaty, printed fabric; team with elegant heels (they pull the outfit together and add some glamour); and finish off with gold jewellery to add more glamour and elegance.
So here’s how to do summer evening wear for a high-budget:
Playsuit – Edun – Printed silk-georgette playsuit (£360).
Heels – Jimmy Choo – Anouk metallic leather pumps (£395).
Clutch – Marc by Marc Jacobs – Burg Boxer two-tone leather clutch (£235).
Earrings – Philippe Audibert – Gold-plated crystal earrings (£100).
Cuff – Chloé – Stacy gold-tone spiral snake cuff (£345).
All available from Net-a-porter.com.
This floaty, printed, playsuit looks great with these metallic heels (my obsession at the moment!). The heels stop the playsuit from looking too daywear-ish, and add elegance at the same time. The gold jewellery adds more elegance and glamour – and makes the outfit seem like and evening outfit! Finally, the neutral clutch doesn’t interfere with the other colours and makes the outfit that little bit smarter. Again, like I suggested for the low-budget outfit; wear your hair in a plaited halo for a stunning, ladylike touch. For make-up keep it natural but go for a bit of colour on the cheeks and lips. A pale blue or a pale pink on your nails will finish the look nicely.
