How To Do: Scuba Fashion for a Low-Budget
Last Monday I showed you how to do early summer beach dressing for a high-budget. However today, I’m going to show you how to do scuba fashion for a low-budget.
Scuba fashion this season was inspired by Alexander McQueen, Jimmy Choo, Michael Kors, and Derek Lam. The key to creating a great look is lots of neoprene, bright shots of colour, and chunky zips. This is a look for the brave, but the (slightly) less brave can try it too – by just sticking to some tips: a statement skirt (so – colour, zips and neoprene all in one!) will look great with a slightly translucent, shimmery, sweater. Oh! And always pair with heels – they add the glamour and feminism to the outfit.
So here’s how to get the look for a low-budget:
Skirt – Simply Be – Cobalt Pencil Skirt (£14) – Simplybe.co.uk.
Top – New Look – Cream Scuba Zipped Top (£14.99) – Newlook.com.
Jumper – ASOS – ASOS Shell Top In Metallic Knit (£10) – Asos.com.
Clutch – ASOS – Candy Store Purse (£20) – Asos.com.
Heels – Topshop – GAME High Pointed Courts (£48) – Topshop.com.
Sunglasses – ASOS – ASOS Mix Frame Cat Eye Sunglasses (£12) – Asos.com.
This white New Look top has armholes which are the perfect shape for this season – somehow they make it look more sporty. The skirt is brightly coloured and neoprene… so ticks two more boxes there! The silicone clutch and heels add some warmer pops of colour to the outfit to stop you from looking too watery. The sheer, silver sweater is a great cover-up, and will look even better with translucent, shimmery makeup on your cheekbones to highlight the contours of your face. Keep the rest of the makeup minimal, but add a flick of silvery blue eyeliner, and slick hair back with plenty of gel to complete the look. On sunny days, finish off with the sunglasses for the perfect kooky-cool touch!
