How To Do: Print Clashing for a Low-Budget
Last Monday I showed you how to wear pastels for a high-budget. However, today I’m going to show you How To Do: Print Clashing for a Low-Budget.
There is an art to print clashing; do two similar prints and it’s not really ‘clashing’. Do two that are so different, and you look like you wanted to wear everything crazy you had in your wardrobe. So this is my advice… there are two ways to go: clash the size of print, but keep similar colours, or clash the colour but keep the size of print the same. Of course, it can work with different colours and different size prints – but you have to know what you’re doing or else it could go a bit wrong.
So, here’s how:
Blouse – H&M – (From Conscious Collection) £19.99
Trousers – Zara – Printed Trousers – £29.99
Clutch – Zara – Printed Messenger Bag – £39.99
Heels – New Look – Rave Neon Orange Mid Heel – £15.99
Sunglasses – Topshop – Glitter Cats Eye Sunglasses – £16
The H&M blouse and Zara trousers have similar sized prints, but contrasting colours which balance each other well. The clutch and kitten heels add zingy pops of colour to brighten the other paler items. I added the cat’s eye sunglasses to add more kooky cool to the outfit – I thought it offset the other garments perfectly. Tie your hair up into a high bun, and add a flick of black eyeliner on the corners of your eyes. A little neon yellow nail polish should complete the look!
