How To Do: Pretty Pastels for a High-Budget
Last Monday I showed you how to rock the pastels trend for a low-budget. However today, I’m going to show you how to get the look for a high-budget.
Pretty pastels are one of the key looks and trends this season. Celebrities and fashionistas everywhere are doing it; designers such as 3.1 by Phillip Lim, Acne, Carvella, Jil Sander and Preen all have edible colour pallets in their collections. So you should too! The key to getting this look right is to keep the main items of your outfit of a similar colour palette, and add one item of a contrasting pastel colour. Simples ; )
So here’s how:
Sweater – Jil Sander – Open-knit cashmere and silk-blend sweater (£590)
Skirt – Carven – Scalloped lace skirt (£355)
Heels – Rochas – Textured-leather platform sandals (£550)
Bag – Proenza Schouler – PS1 Small leather satchel (£825)
All available from Net-a-porter.com (except macaroons!)
This outfit ticks all the boxes on how to do girly pastel dressing. The pop of coral (PS1 satchel) balances the blue hued outfit well. For hair, I suggest plaiting your hair all around in a ‘halo’. For make-up, keep your face fresh, but add a little swish of pale pink lipstick. If you’re feeling adventurous, try the ombre effect on your nails with two pastel colours. Check out this video:
And p.s… it has never been more stylish to eat those pastel coloured macaroons. ; ) Mmmmmmm.
