How To Do: Sporty Chic for a High-Budget
Last week I showed you how to get the Sporty Chic look for a low-budget. However, today I’m going to show you how to get the same look for a high-budget.
Sporty Chic is a key look for Spring/Summer, taking inspiration from Alexander Wang, Michael Kors, Proenza Schouler, Stella McCartney and Victoria Beckham, to name but a few. Wet look hair, backpacks, running shorts and wedge hightop trainers are all ways for you to channel the trend – without actually looking as if you have just come off the track. The key to getting the balance right is to mix and match – adding heels and slouchy grey or white tee-shirts to offset the look.
So here’s how you can get the look for a high-budget:
Top – Victoria Beckham Denim – Cotton-jersey and mesh T-shirt (£85)
Shorts – Marc by Marc Jacobs – Cotton-jersey and mesh T-shirt (£235)
Heels – Alexander Wang – Chloe High Heel Sandals (£344.46) – Shopbob.com
Bag – Marc by Marc Jacobs – Hip To Be Square textured-leather wristlet (£115)
Sunglasses – Karl – Aviator-style acetate sunglasses (£115)
Watch – Nixon – Time Teller rubber watch (£55)
All (except shoes) available from Net-a-porter.com.
Tuck in the grey tee at the front of the shorts but leave it free at the sides and back. Wear the watch with a wristfull of friendship bracelets. Slick hair back into a high ponytail, or alternatively (if you think you can carry it off) sweep hair back off your face with plenty of hair-gel to get the ‘wet look’. Keep your face fresh or add a little flash of colour on your eyes.
