ewfashionblogger – Trendy Coats (Part 1)!

On Monday I showed you how to get the 70s look for a high-budget. However today, I’m going to show you what different styles of coats are fashionable this season, and where to buy them. A fashionable coat is your way to make a statement this winter whilst staying warm! So, here’s how:

Capes

Capes are a chic, and very flattering if you get it right. Wear them with leggings, or skinny trousers to balance the silhouette; e.g. to stop you looking like a balloon!

Left to right:
Zara – Crossover Cape (£79.99) – Zara.com.
Just Female – Bow Detail Cape Coat (£148) – Asos.com.
Stella McCartney – Wool and Cashmere-Blend Cape (£815) – Net-a-porter.com.

Parkas

Parkas are a great way to make a simple evening shift more grungy. Fur lined hoods are another great way to channel another trend.

Left to right:
Topshop – Borg Collar Padded Parka (£95) – Topshop.com.
Altuzarra – Willow Oversized Satin-Twill Parka (£1,895) – Net-a-porter.com.
New Look – Pocket Detail Parka (Was £34.99, Now £24.49) – Newlook.com.

Leather Sleeves/Detailing

Leather sleeves or leather detailing add a little touch of interest and grunge to a simple wool coat. Wear with brogues for a strong and confident look.

Left to right:
Topshop – Leather Collar Wool Boyfriend Coat (£170) – Topshop.com.
Zara – Coat With Leather Sleeves (£119) – Zara.com.
Etro – Wool and Leather Double Breasted Coat (£2,400) – Net-a-porter.com.

Trenches

Trenches can be very flattering too. Belted in at the waist, to emphasise it, and skimming over the hips is a great way to wear yours. Wear with anything for a chic  take on city dressing.

Left to right:
Zara – Double Breasted Trench Coat (£69.99) – Zara.com.
Topshop – Silk Trench Coat by Boutique (£160) – Topshop.com.
Burberry London – Silk Crepe De Chine Trench Coat (£995) – Net-a-porter.com.

Masculine

A boxy shape to channel the androgynous trend. Wear with masculine, tailored trousers, and brogues to complete the look.

Left to right:
Stella McCartney – Edith Camel Wool Coat (£1,275) – Net-a-porter.com.
Stella McCartney – Anabelle Oversized Wool-Twill Coat (£1,395) – Net-a-porter.com.
Topshop – Oversized Boyfriend Blazer by Boutique (£130) – Topshop.com.

Check out my blog next Monday for Trendy Coats (Part 2), where I will be showing you what coat to wear and how to style it, for a low-budget!
