How To Do: Evening Hair & Makeup

How To Do: Evening Hair & Makeup

On Thursday I showed you how to get the look for a high-budget. However today, I’m going to show you how to keep up the great look all over, with a fabulous hair-do and stunning make-up.

Lets start with the make-up:

If you have a busy, colourful, or patterned dress, or you simply just want to look very elegant, I would keep the face simple. Earthy tones, nude lips, soft shadows; nothing too bright or attention seeking.

However, if you have quite a plain dress, or you feel like injecting a bit of oomph into your face (maybe it’s a disco) here is how you can stun, although I don’t suggest you wear all of the below at the same time; they are just ideas:

If I were you, I wouldn’t bother wearing foundation. Your face will look purer in dimmed light anyway, and if you are at a disco, foundation will only feel heavy, make you hotter and sweat more!
Lipgloss – M.A.C – Dazzleglass Lipglass in Roman Holiday.
Lipstick – M.A.C – Sheen Supreme in Good To Be Bad.
Mascara – Yves Saint Laurent – Mascara Singulier Exaggerated Lashes Dramatic Styling in Deep Black (I love the tube… don’t you?)
Eyeliner – Shu Uemura Painting Liner in Black.
Eyeshadows – Shu Uemura (on left): Shine Mystique Eye Colour in Ivy Gold and Aqua Green. M.A.C (on right): Eye Shadow in Chrome Yellow, Electric Eel and Orange.

Nails – MaxFactor – Max Effect Mini Nail Polish in (left to right) Diva Coral, Deep Mauve, Dazzling Blue, Red Carpet Glam, and Bright Orange.

Now for the hair:

If you are at a disco, or if you feel more confident this way, you may want to have your hair down. If you have a complicated dress, or again you just want to look really elegant, keep your hair up. So here’s a video to show you how to get a great up-do:
